Eye Strain Symptoms

Symptoms of eye strain will vary from person to person depending on the degree of the strain. Most of the symptoms directly effect the eye, but your body will naturally try to fix the problem the symptoms can spread to your neck/back and even result in headaches and migraines. The most common symptoms of eye strain are:

  • Dry/itchy eyes
  • Blurry vision
  • Red eyes
  • Spasms/twitches around the eyes
  • Headaches/migraines
  • Back/neck pain
  • Double vision
  • Watery eyes
  • Burning eyes
  • Problems reading/using a computer

If left untreated these problems can become serious resulting in attention and learning difficulties. If you are experiencing these symptoms it’s important to note what activities may have caused these symptoms and to if possible avoid/modify these activities in the future. Treatment for eye strain involves simple eye exercises and if necessary eye lubrication and specially designed glasses.
